We are men and there are four of us but we're not barbershop. Also, we don’t sing opera or classical stuff at all, but that still leaves us plenty to sing such as folk, blues, pop, freedom and protest songs.Through our performances we’d like to do our bit to bring a little peace in the world, between different people and places, cultures, faiths and races.

We sing about the world around us and take you on a musical trip around the world with a wonderful variety of contemporary and traditional songs from countries and continents far and near from Europe to Africa. You could describe some of our songs as ‘world folk’. We also can sing many songs which are born and bred from the roots of our communities in the UK.

We sing loads of a capella harmony but sometimes also strum our acoustic guitars and play our percussion. We aim to be men who not only sing in harmony, but also work together in harmony. It doesn't mean we never disagree though!

Since we started in 2006, audiences have seen our performances swing from being physical and fun to being thought provoking and evocative.  Between us, we have a wide range of musical skills, experience and backgrounds which when glued together creates a vibrant musical fusion for our listeners. We have written our own songs and arranged all or part of songs from others by using our collective skills of written musical notation, singing by ear and creative imagination. Many of Voicemale’s songs aim to leave you with musical messages about the world we live in: justice and peace, freedom and human rights, joy and celebration, friendship and community, health and well-being, care and the environment, love and romance and some we sing just for fun.

We knocked together a rough two minute medley of VoiceMale singing. Sorry about sounding at times like you're in a fish bowl but we hope it shows the variety of songs we do and the typical response of our audience.
